‘Silent Hill’ Creator Keiichiro Toyama Founds New Studio
After spending the last few years working with Sony Interactive Entertainment, game director Keiichiro Toyama has left Sony and has created his own game studio. Toyama is best know for creating the original Silent Hill game while also creating the Gravity Rush series. Now, Toyama is out on his own with a brand new studio, called Bokeh Game Studio. For this new studio, Toyama has brung other industry veterans with him in this new venture. Such names include Kazunobu Sato, a producer for The Last Guardian, and Junya Okura, the lead game designer for the Gravity Rush franchise.
Recently, Bokeh Games released a video of the three men discussing their past experiences working in the game industry while dropping hints at their first upcoming title. While a name or release date wasn’t revealed, the trailer did show off several pieces of concept art, many of which consisted of creatures that wouldn’t be out of place in a horror video game. Perhaps Toyama is working on a spiritual successor to Silent Hill? We may not know for some time, but we do wish him and his team the best of luck on their new adventure.
