The two most popular horror games have finally come together to create a collab filled with lore and gore.
Springtrap is available to play in Dead by Daylight’s latest chapter. This collaboration features a new map that FNAF players will love, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While Springtrap terrorizes the pizza parlor, players must navigate around the unpredictable animatronic to survive the night.
Behavior Interactive has incorporated key elements from the Five Nights at Freddy’s series into the gameplay. In the trailer, a control room is shown with security cameras monitoring various areas of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, allowing players to track Springtrap’s movements and heightening the eerie tension of never knowing exactly where he might be.
About The Game
Compared to past killers in Dead by Daylight, Springtrap will come equipped with new abilities and perks that make him more powerful than the average Killer. Both Killers and Survivors will also have access to expanded game mechanics, including security doors and cameras that players can disrupt, giving them more control over the Trial.
Since Dead by Daylight and Five Nights at Freddy’s have very different gameplay, Jason Guzzo, Killer designer, stated, “In the former, you’re mainly sitting in one room and managing a single resource – your battery. Whereas in Dead by Daylight, it’s much more action-oriented, and sitting still will likely get you nowhere fast. Our challenge became finding a way to get those two things to coalesce. It came down to identifying what creates that incredible tension in Five Nights at Freddy’s and adapting it into a dynamic format for our own game.”
Player Reviews
Fans have eagerly expressed their opinion and excitement for the collab, a user on the subreddit r/fivenightsatfreddys commented, “I love that Springtrap is finally being used in a more mature setting. In FNAF itself, his kills were at best only mentioned or shown in pixelated minigames, but now we see him killing people in detail.”
Fans are loving the lore-accurate portrayal of Springtrap, a fan on YouTube said, “Him humming while chasing the survivors is such a small but amazing detail. It just shows how perfectly he fits into the fog.” Another comment added, “Dude, the attention to detail in the part where Springtrap kills Meg and blood splatters all over the clock, the clock ticks to 6 AM, the end of the night shift. Meg is now Dead by Daylight.”
