Xbox Games With Gold

August is upon us, and with it will come four new games Xbox Live Gold members can download through the Games with Gold program. These are the titles Microsoft is offering throughout the month.

Gears of War 4 is a clever inclusion, as it will help prepare folk for Gears 5‘s September release. This is the fourth numerical chapter in the Gears saga, introducing us to JD Fenix, son of series stalwart Marcus Fenix. Years after the conclusion of the original trilogy, JD and his friends (and his begrudging father) rise up to stop a new threat. Gears of War 4 will be free all month long.

Racing simulator Forza Motorsport 6, another entry in one of Microsoft’s signature properties, will be free from August 16 to September 15. Moreover, last month‘s Big Crown: Showdown will remain free until August 15.

As for the Xbox 360, the critically acclaimed RPG Torchlight gives the month an explosive start, which will last until August 15. The duration of the month will be filled by Konami’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, a significantly less acclaimed entry than last month’s Castlevania, but it has its fans.

Reminder: all Xbox 360 titles will be playable on the Xbox One via backwards compatibility. Furthermore, you’ll need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to redeem any of these games, and any Xbox One games downloaded through this program will require an active Gold membership to play.

Which of these titles are you the most excited for?
