'Among Us'

There have been many games released this year that helped bring us together in these dire times. Games like Fall Guys and Animal  Crossing: New Horizon has given us some relief in an era where we have to wear masks when going out to ensure that we don’t catch a deadly virus. But, who would’ve thought that a game from a few years ago would become one of the most talked-about games of 2020? Among Us was first released in 2018 but had a relatively small player base. It wasn’t until 2020 where Among Us became one of the most-played titles.

Its simple but fun gameplay loop of deducing who is a monster that’s trying to kill everyone has brought joy to millions as they play with friends over the internet during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the game was only relegated to PC and mobile devices, which isn’t everyone’s platform of choice when gaming. During their Indie World presentation, Nintendo announced that Among Us would come to the Nintendo Switch, with the game now being released, as of this writing.

While the game requires you to be a subscriber to Nintendo’s Online Subscription Service to play over the net, you can now play Among Us anywhere you want on Nintendo’s hybrid system. A new update will arrive in January 2021, with a brand new map for players to explore.
