After being unavailable for over eight hours, the Epic Games Store seems to be back up and fully operating. That has players very happy as people are now able to claim a copy of Grand Theft Auto V for free.

On Thursday, the Epic Games Store was counting down for the release of what was then an unknown game, which players learned to be GTA V. Starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, anyone who wanted to claim their free copy of the game had the opportunity to, but when it became time for fans to claim their copy, the store crashed due to the high volume of users.

Epic quickly realized that their store was down and were trying to fix the issue as they said on Twitter.

There was so much traffic in the Epic Games Store, that it had such a ripple effect on other Epic Games services as Fortnite and Battle Breakers, which experienced some technical issues. According to Epic, both games are back up and working fully.

For anyone who wants to claim their copy of the Premium Edition of GTA V, Epic is requiring people to use two-factor authentication.

You can claim your copy of GTA V for free until May 21.
