‘Fable’ Remake Gets Pushed To 2026

Fans of Fable now have to wait longer as the game’s release date has been pushed to 2026. Xbox said they would prefer to have a more fleshed-out redesign. Rather than rushing out the game, Xbox would rather give it more time to improve.

Craig Duncan, the head of Xbox Games Studios, said, “I’m really excited about Playground’s plans and really excited about the future, and I want the community to understand that we do these things for the benefit of the games, and the teams, and ultimately that results in the best games for the community.”

Fable, an action-fantasy RPG, has a legacy to live up to. The gameplay shows our hero fighting werewolves, goblins/hobgoblins and what appears to be a cockatrice (bird-like animal). The story is based in Medieval Europe/Medieval Britain timeframe in a place known as Albion. While fans get to witness our protagonist kick a chicken on the live stream announcement, it does help with the pushback disappointment.

Thankfully the fans are with the developers on this and even hope for the game to make it into next year’s biggest and best RPG.

Fable features cameos from British comedy legends and cinematic views, but that’s all on hold for fans as the game develops further. Check out the showcase below and let the waiting begin.
