There is a new game coming out in the Doom franchise. Doom: Dark Ages arrives on May 15 and places players in a prequel to Doom (2016) and Doom: Eternal (2020). Its medieval setting defines that on the spot. From riding flying cyborg-esque dragons to battling demons, Doom delivers an action-packed first-person shooter.

While players can maul or commit acts of violence against demons, the hallmark of the franchise itself, they can also envelop themselves in the plot. The game’s grounded, fast-paced combat keeps players on their toes. The techno-medieval setting of the game delivers an absolute top-tier vibe. Doom: The Dark Ages keeps the demon-slaying mission alive with its latest installment.

The developers give a more in-depth storyline and teach the player about Doom-slayer in this game. It’s all about his origins. Plus, with the new weapons and use of various pilotable vehicles like the techno-dragon, players experience a shift in gameplay. Saw shields and a bone-firing gun show great promise.

Doom is playable on PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox X/S.
