Pokémon Showcase Rolls Out Numerous Upcoming Updates
The Pokémon Company posted its The Pokémon Presents event to an official YouTube channel on Tuesday. Several announcements were made within the footage which featured over 30 minutes of shiny, new content. While some reveals were bigger than others, each proceeding reveal had a different impact on the Pokémon fanbase.
Among them is a fresh animated series centered on the trading card game inspired by the Pokémon game franchise. It will detail the story of a young child who joins a Pokémon card club at school before attempting to take her skill to the top. Pokémon: Path to the Peak will premiere at the Pokémon World Championships, which will be held in Yokohama, Japan, on August 11–13.
On the subject of the Pokémon animated series, we were also lucky enough to see our first peek at Pokémon Horizons: The Series. Most likely, the show will take place in the Paldea region. Be on the lookout for potential sightings of your favorite generation nine Pokémon. It is unclear exactly when it will be released, but The Pokémon Company mentioned that it would be on its way sooner rather than later.
In addition, Detective Pikachu Returns showcases its first trailer that features gameplay, including the ability to investigate numerous crime scenes and a few characters that will appear on your journey. October 6 marks its arrival to the Nintendo Switch.
For mobile gamers, Pokémon Go is going to get its hands on the new Pokémon in September! This update has not been fully detailed yet but is sure to include the three starters of the region: Fuecoco, Sprigatito and Quaxly.
This was not all that was shared regarding this new batch from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Not only are Mew and Mewtwo obtainable (Mew being temporary until September 18), but on September 13, the first major expansion, The Teal Mask, will be released.
To top it all off, a third series will be coming out on September 6. Pokémon: Paldean Winds will be an anime series set in the Paldea region. Similar to the generation nine games, the main character will be a student who desires the life of a Pokémon trainer.
The Pokémon Company also announced that both Pokémon Stadium 2 and Pokemon Trading Card Game will be available on the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service. They were seen shortly after the presentation ended.
Pokémon fans now have a lot to look forward to, with rising expectations, after the showcase. Hopefully, The Pokémon Company’s current route will surpass ‘em all.
