Resident Evil Requiem icon Leon Kennedy will be able to wield a chainsaw against the zombies alongside newbie Grace Ashcroft. Capcom unveiled these character playstyles ahead of the game’s Fe last week on all current-gen platforms.
Leon will be featured as a seasoned veteran with extensive combat experience. His classic knife will evolve into a hatchet capable of performing various attacks.
Resident Evil director Kōshi Nakanishi said, “Leon’s hatchet is another way that the team wanted to show that Leon now has a lot more experience fighting bio-weapons than he did in previous games… so that was why they ended up changing the knife to a hatchet.” This weapon can be re-sharpened to improve its durability.
Inexperienced FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft is supposedly bringing the fear factor to Resident Evil Requiem. She offers a slower gameplay set in a mansion-type environment. Ammo is limited, so the player will have to sneak past zombies rather than challenge them.
Grace’s weapon is her Requiem revolver, which offers a major lifeline but is low on ammo, making it a last resort. A new system has been implemented that allows Grace to harvest zombie blood to create various tools or injections that can cause an enemy to explode.
The player isn’t able to choose which character to play as in each chapter, because the story demands different characters for different parts. You can choose your preferred method of playing your character: first- or third-person. The player is also free to choose their difficulty mode, with options of Casual, Standard (Modern) or Standard (Classic).
Resident Evil Requiem aims to return to its survival-horror roots with its two protagonists, Leon and Grace. Fans are in for a treat with this evolving game, which offers the ultimate horror and fantasy experience.
