On November 7, developer Bioware and Mass Effect fans celebrated N7 day. Over the weekend, members of the Mass Effect voice cast joined developers from Bioware to discuss the history of the Mass Effect franchise with two big announcements. The first announcement was the official reveal of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, a graphical overhaul of the original Mass Effect trilogy in one complete package.

Throughout 2020, several sources had been reported the existence of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, with foreign retailers briefly listing the game.  The collection sees the original trilogy with all DLC that was available and promo weapons and armors. While an official release date wasn’t announced, the collection is expected to arrive on PS4, Xbox One and PC sometime in 2021, with support for enhancements for the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Along with the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition‘s announcement, Bioware also broke the news that a new Mass Effect game was in the works from Bioware. The game will feature veteran team members of the original Mass Effect series working on the game. Other announcements from N7 Day include a small scale replica of the Normandy and a limited-edition PC Mass Effect case.

The last installment in the Mass Effect series was Mass Effect: Andromeda back in 2017.
