The Sonic the Hedgehog film series is among the most successful video game adaptations in Hollywood. The films use live-action performers for some characters, as well as CGI versions of characters from the games, which have drawn in a significant number of series fans for decades and have introduced new audiences to the franchise.
Characters expected to return in the new films include Sonic, voiced by Schwartz; Tails, voiced by Colleen O’Shaughnessy; and Knuckles, voiced by Idris Elba. Also expected to return is Shadow the Hedgehog, voiced by Keanu Reeves, who was introduced in the first film.
Director Jeff Fowler is leading the way with the movie currently in production. With the introduction of Amy Rose, the film might explore new characters and storylines from the Sonic universe.
