Tyler “Ninja” Blevins is a well-known gaming personality, being a fixture in the Fortnite community and one of the biggest names on Twitch. However, he’s preparing for “the next chapter” in his career, which is seeing him migrate over to Microsoft’s Mixer streaming platform.

Blevins’ announcement was first made on Twitter yesterday following a series of countdown tweets. “I have been holding on to this for quite some time,” Ninja said. “And I’m just super excited to let everyone know. I’ll be streaming on Mixer full-time now and I’m honestly at a loss for words. I’m freaking out in the best ways. I feel like I’m going to get back to the streaming roots.”

The streaming star followed up on this with a video, going into a little more detail about the move and what it means for his fans. Between the two videos, Blevins’ message is clear: his content will continue as it had, only doing so on a new platform. Blevins affirms that it’ll still be him streaming, crazy hair and all, and his Fortnite skills will remain strong.

Speaking of their new teammate, Mixer issued the following statement:

“We’re thrilled to welcome Ninja and his community to Mixer. Mixer is a place that was formed around being positive and welcoming from day one, and we look forward to the energy Ninja and his community will bring.”

Mixer launched as Beam back in 2016 and was rebranded into its current form a year later. It never attained the widespread usage of Twitch or YouTube, however. Microsoft’s signing on the Fortnite figurehead is a clear indicator they want Mixer to grow.
