It’s no surprise that players are looking for information on Borderlands 4. The real problem is that the developers have kept so much of it under wraps.

This time, fans are moving from Pandora to Kairos.

Kairos is an all-new planet to explore, inhabited by new characters. The playable characters follow the archetypes traditionally offered by Gearbox: mages and soldiers. While the previous game left fans with many questions, Borderlands 4 picks up on another planet, offering the chance to fill us in on the past as we go.

The Borderlands franchise offers plenty of attractions, namely the refreshing characters and the nitty-gritty art styles that keep players feeling in the game. Plus, Gearbox has a tendency to craft well-balanced characters like Ellie from Borderlands 2.

The developers are keeping most details under wraps, but in time, they may give fans more to look at. With the views of characters shown in the first look trailer, it seems players will have a slew of interesting choices.

Borderlands 4 releases on September 23, 2025.
