The second Slime Rancher game in the series is here, popping onto Xbox and PC back on September 22.

Slime Rancher 2, developed by Monomi Park, follows protagonist Beatrix Lebeau, returning from the first game, as you farm and explore the new area known as Rainbow Island.

The game is currently in early access, though allows players to do much of what they had done in the first game while adding a bit to the formula to keep it fresh.

Monomi Park’s farming simulator has a wide audience for an indie game and many of those fans are asking for one thing that was left out of the original.

One question on the minds of fans is whether we will see multiplayer make its debut in the second game. Monomi Park has yet to confirm or deny the existence of, or idea for, co-op play though they have confirmed that free updates will be available to players while the game is in early access.

Only time will tell if any of Monomi Park’s updates are the pined for feature however we can hope, right?

It isn’t too uncommon in the gaming industry for gamers to change the trajectory of games, take Star Wars Battlefront 2, for example, or even the existence of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order where gamers begged EA for a story-based single-player experience.

Either way, it is recommended that you pick up Slime Rancher 2 and get farming.

Those with Xbox Game Pass can play for free, both on the Xbox console and PC.
