Eorzea’s Warriors of Light and Nordvrant’s Warriors of Darkness, rejoice. The 5.5 patch for Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers will be coming to PS4 and PC April 13.

Shadowbringers has slowly been preparing players for one of the most explosive developments in the game’s history as the world leans into the Final Days. Swords, staffs and gun blades are ready to clash as The Scions of the Seventh Dawn and The Eorzean Alliance prepare for war with Lord Zenos Yae Galvus arming servants of chaos against the realm.

Patch 5.5 will add the new dungeon Paglth’an, the sweeping plains home to the Amalj’aa beast tribe and their livestock. A new trial, The Cloud Deck, will also debut in 5.5. Players can also look forward to the new side-story chapter of Chronicles of a New Era called The Sorrow of Werlyt, which will finally tell the fate of the Diamond Weapon.

Patch 5.5 will also add the final Alliance raid in the YoRHa series crossover with Nier Automata. The newest chapter, Dark Apocalypse, is still a mystery to players, as Square Enix has kept details scant on the surreal, captivating dungeons.

The new patch, keeping with the trend of ‘fives,’ will also begin beta for PS5 access for Final Fantasy XIV.

Along with the several large-scale updates, players can expect a suite of new mounts, minions, emotes and other performance updates coming with the April update.
