A Sony PlayStation console tripped the security system at Boston’s Logan International Airport on Sunday, which caused the evacuation of passengers just after 4 p.m.
Authorities said the gaming console was in “degraded condition.” The passenger carrying the PlayStation had been trying to catch a Delta Airlines flight.
“The condition of the console caused abnormalities in the image produced when it was x-rayed, prompting the screeners’ concern. During the investigation of the object and secondary sweeps of the area,” said Massachusetts State Police spokesperson Dave Procopio.
The evacuation lasted around an hour. The airport made an effort to hold all the planes, but they helped passengers that needed to be rebooked after investigating the PlayStation and doing a second precautionary sweep of the terminal.
