Gayming Magazine will be hosting the first LGBTQ video game awards from their Twitch channel at 3 p.m. EST called The Gayming Awards.

The 2021 Gayming Awards will feature several LGBTQ-themed categories including Best LGBTQ Narrative, Most Authentic Representation, Best LGBTQ Character, LGBTQ Streamer of the Year, Best LGBTQ Indie Game, Industry Diversity Leader, Gayming Magazine Readers’ Award, and, of course, Game of the Year. Among the nominees are several hit-games including The Last of Us Part II, Tell Me Why, If Found…, Hades, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Each of the categories are sponsored by gaming industry leaders like Square Enix, PlayStation, Microsoft and Electronic Arts.

Gayming Magazine Founder Robin Gray writes on the award’s program that “in what was an exceptionally tough year for the world, 2020 felt life a watershed moment for queer video games as we saw one of the biggest years for in-game LGBTQ representation across both indie and AAA titles.”

The Gayming Awards will be streamed exclusively at the magazine’s official Twitch page starting at 3 p.m. EST.
