Netflix’s newest original, Resident Evil, is the latest video game to enter the streaming scene. The show, which is currently in the top 10 on the streaming platform, is based on the Japanese horror game Biohazard by Capcom and is set years after a viral outbreak that caused a global apocalypse. Jade Wesker tries to bring down those involved while trying to survive in a world overrun by affected individuals.

Connor Gosatti, who plays Simon, recently sat for an exclusive with uInterview founder Erik Meers to discuss the differences between the show and Biohazard.

“It’s set within the storylines of the games, but it’s progressing the story,” Gosatti explained. “It’s following, for fans who already know but for the fans who don’t, it’s falling this family called the Wesker family. The father is Albert Wesker. Albert Wesker is probably one of the most iconic villains in gaming history and plays a huge role in the Resident Evil franchise. Now, it’s exciting for new fans to see that we’re now following this whole other side of Albert Wesker that we haven’t seen before – this family side to him. For people who haven’t seen it, it’s just as exciting because you don’t need to know a lot about the franchise before to understand what’s going on because it is a new story. Then for the gamers or even fans of the films, it’s still very much set within that Resident Evil world, having the references and the easter eggs, but it’s continuing on the storyline. It’s exciting for any gamer to be progressing on with the stories we love so much.”

Season One of Resident Evil is available for streaming on Netflix now.
