Nintendo announced Thursday they are releasing a new summer update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, launching July 3. The update will feature much anticipated new ability to go swimming and diving, as well as a number of additional new functions.

Animal Crossing players will now be able to enjoy the beaches to the fullest by swimming and diving in the ocean. Players will also be able to catch new sea creatures, such as eel, starfish and scallops, and donate them to Blathers. Pascal the sea otter, a familiar character from a previous version of the game, will show up in the ocean and will offer players new stuff to buy. Additionally, players will be able to craft mermaid-themed decor with the new DIY recipes.

The pelican Gulliver will now wear a pirate-themed red-striped shirt and will offer a new quest to complete for a certain “special reward.”

Nintendo says they are launching another free update in early August, though they did not specify the details. “Another summer update is planned to be released in early August, so stay tuned for further details to come,” Nintendo said in a statement.
