Apex Legends: Emergence is coming on August 3, with a new Legend in Seer, new maps, weapons and more.

Born cursed with the mark of the moth, Seer is a tracker with abilities centered on misdirection. With exclusive microdrones and an artistic lense, Seer can spot opportunities that other Legends miss, and further take advantage of them in the most beautiful way. Seer’s primary ability can be read about more here.

Seer’s abilities in Apex Legends

  • Passive: When ADS, Seer has a heartbeat sensor that points toward enemy locations.
  • Tactical: Sends out drones from Seer’s chest, with the ability to reveal and track enemies.
  • Ultimate: Sends out hundreds of microdrones to create a sphere — inside of which all enemies are tracked.

In addition to the new character, Apex Legends will also be introducing Ranked Arenas in the upcoming season. Different from traditional PvP systems, Ranked Arenas will operate with two separated measures of your skills: your visible skill rating (e.g. Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc) and MMR (matchmaking rating). These two ratings are normally combined into one in many games, but Apex Legends hopes to create an even more balanced matchmaking experience.

“Keeping the two scores separate comes with some major benefits, the biggest being that we can quickly adjust your MMR up or down based on your performance, without making you lose your rank just because of a few bad matches,” reads the game’s website. “Those quick adjustments means that matchmaking quality (the odds of you being paired against someone of similar skill) goes up.” For the full features of Ranked Arenas, you can visit here.

New features will also come with the update. The map World’s Edge is expected to undergo major changes, and a new weapon Rampage LMG will also be added to the arsenal.
