Atari To Help Build 'Interactive Gaming' Hotels In U.S.

Atari is credited with creating some of the greatest games of last century. Their expansive roster includes games like Pong, Pac-Man and Space Invaders. Now, Atari has announced that they will be partnering up with GDS Group, – a digital marketing company – and True North Studio, a Phoenix, Arizona-based real estate developer, to deliver a unique experience to gamers and tourists alike.

The company has seen an inconsistent results in the last few years. However, this innovative idea is the first of its kind for any company.

“Atari Hotels will be the first of their kind in the United States, offering gamers of all ages the ultimate, immersive entertainment experience that realtes to every aspect of gaming. We’re excited to be working on this project with such great partners and to bring a big win to Arizona,”stated by Shelly Murphy of the GSD Group.

Atari is going to design the exterior of the building with a blend of ‘retro & modern’ aesthetics. Each hotel will be created to give a consumer an immersive experience, regardless of their gaming skills. Every hotel will include VR (Virtual Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality) activities for patrons to indulge. Other hotels will design state-of-the-art facilities that will host e-sports tournaments.

“When creating this brand-new hotel concept, we knew that Atari would be the perfect way to give guests the ‘nostalgic and retro meets modern’ look and feel we were going for. Let’s face it, how cool will it be to stay inside an Atari?!” stated GSD Group’s Napoleon Smith III.

The first hotel will open up in Phoenix, Arizona. The next hotels will open up in major cities such as: Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco and San Jose.
