‘Bayonetta’ Update Might Hint At ‘Vanquish’ Re-Release

Bayonetta joined the Steam catalog earlier this month. However, a recent update to the game implies another one of PlatinumGames’ titles may join it.

BAYONETTA UPDATE TEASES VANQUISH RE-RELEASE?

At 22 kilobytes, it’s a relatively inconspicuous update. The sole addition to the title was an avatar of Sam Gideon, Vanquish’s protagonist. 

Shinji Mikami helmed the beloved third-person shooter, which originally graced the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010. While Vanquish never received a sequel, it’s still a well-regarded title and giving it more exposure would be nice.

Notably, Bayonetta’s Steam re-release was similarly teased. And, given the lessons Platinum’s golden girl have taught me, I’m expecting history to repeat itself. Furthermore, in an interview with PC Gamer, PlatinumGames have expressed interest in porting their work to the PC.

Also on the topic of Bayonetta, PlatinumGames have uploaded a curious series of videos to their YouTube page. Therein, a few of the witch’s more memorable lines from Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are repeated three times each.

According to Platinum’s blog, it’s meant to serve as an English lesson to their Japanese audience. However, given how each clip is repeated thrice, some fans are hopeful it’s a tease for a third Bayonetta.
