Some may not remember the days before Warcraft or Overwatch, but Blizzard has a long. storied history of game development that has gone unfortunately eclipsed by their modern blockbusters. Blizzard classics like Blackthorne, The Lost Vikings and Rock N’ Roll Racing live on in the Blizzard Arcade Collection. The collection got even more bustling this week when Blizzard added The Lost Vikings 2 and RPM Racing to the game at no charge to players.
The unexpectedly kind move further sweetens the retro collection for anyone looking to delve into further Norse madness or racing in the near future. The game’s internal Museum will also add a new Design Document Gallery for anyone interest in the design process for the games which built an empire.
The Blizzard Arcade Collection is a fun experiment in re-releasing classic games under a company’s banner. Some of the collection’s games like Blackthorne haven’t seen re-release since the Super Nintendo Entertainment System days.
