Dell's Alienware Releases Prototype Portable PC Gaming System, Concept UFO, At CES
At CES in Las Vegas this week, Alienware released the Concept UFO, a portable PC gaming system with removable controllers that can be enjoyed in tabletop mode, or connected to a television. No, It is not a Nintendo Switch.
Concept UFO is merely a design prototype. It’s not for sale right now and may never be sold, so bashing Alienware’s hybrid gaming system. The creation of new gaming systems is always a good addition to the market. Concept UFO is a bit larger than a Switch with a built-in 10-inch screen. The Switch screen is only 6.2 inches. The Concept UFO’s screen is almost twice the size of the Switch’s.
ConceptUFO’s controllers come off from the side like the Switch Joy-Cons in order for the system to be be played in tabletop mode with a kickstand or connected to a television. The difference between Concept UFO and the Switch is that the two controllers can be snapped together to create a full-size game controller. That difference is key.
It may seem like the consoles looks similar and function in a similar way, but it is a very new gaming system. Not once did host Aisha Tyler mention Nintendo or the Switch. Coincidence?
