Gayming Magazine‘s first annual video game award show, The Gayming Awards, honored several LGBTQ figures and featured sponsors from several major players in the games industry including Electronic Arts, Square Enix, Twitch, PlayStation and Microsoft. The highest honor of Game of the Year was awarded to Supergiant Games’ Hades.

“I am so proud to be able to say we have held the world’s first LGBTQ video game award show,” said Robin Gray, founder of Gayming Magazine. “2020 was truly a watershed moment for LGBTQ inclusion in games and to be able to celebrate it with everyone, although virtually, was amazing! Congratulations to all the winners, well done to all the nominees and thank you again to all our sponsors! See you in 2022!”

The Gayming Awards 2021 featured several hit-games including Tell Me Why which won the Authentic Representation Award as well as the Best LGBTQ Character Award for their character Tyler Ronan, voiced by August Black. Another game featured was the indie-hit If Found… which won the Best LGBTQ Indie Game Award.
