New story details have been released about the second installment in the Vader Immortal virtual reality series. This Star Wars game is currently the only VR game in its universe where you play as a scavenger in the outer rim of the galaxy. Series antagonist Darth Vader soon captures you, and takes you under his wing.

“You will get to use the Force in Episode II,” said Ben Snow, the director the the second Vader Immortal game, according to Gamespot. “The way we thought about this was, we wanted to give you the Vader equivalent of Yoda teaching Luke about the Force in Empire Strikes Back. So we wanted it to be slightly darker and more twisted. He talks about the power of the dark side as well as the things you can do with the Force.”

The first episode of the VR game is available right now if you have a VR rig, with it taking place as you being a new recruit for the Galactic Empire, where you are charged with helping find an ancient artifact for Vader. Without spoiling the story of the first game too much, you’re captured in Vader’s castle on Mustafar, the castle you see in Star Wars: Rogue One, and you obtain a lightsaber for the first time and impress Vader with your raw skill set. The training continues in the next installment that is coming out, where you were promised to be learning the ways of the force. The new concept art hints at this as well.

“Our goal is to make the Force in Episode II as satisfying as the lightsaber felt in Episode I,” Snow said in an interview on Starwars.com, according to Gamespot. “To that end, you’ll primarily be using the Force–and not a lightsaber–to defend yourself and take on the enemies you encounter in Episode II.

The Vader Immortal series is officially canon and takes place between Revenge of the Sith and the events of Rogue One. The VR game is available on the Oculus Quest, with no release date set for the second episode after its announcement.
