Revealed in the presentation by creator Masahiro Sakurai, Tekken character Kazuya will join the Super Smash Bros. with Version 12.0. Kazuya will be included in the Fighter Pass Vol. 2 package for $29.99 or for individual purchases ($5.99).

Although fans are also expecting an amiibo for Kazuya, Masahiro confirmed that there won’t be one due to stylistic differences. “People are expecting the amiibo of the characters from Fighters Pass Vol. 2. Nintendo making an amiibo of Kazuya Mishima would be a little odd, though.”

Following the release order, the current DLC characters are Min Min from ARMS, Steve & Alex from Minecraft, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy and Pyra/Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Kazuya marks the penultimate character of the DLF fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Masahiro also revealed that the last DLC character will be released later this year.

“Up until now, we’ve created all sorts of fighters and stages. It’s been close to 10 years since Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS was in development,” he said. “I’ve been working on this for a long time. But finally, the next DLC fighter will be the last one. There won’t be anymore after that.”

Alongside Kazuya will be a series of Mii Fighter costumes, including Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia, Dragonborn from Skyrim, as well as Shantae and Dante from Devil May Cry. There’s also a new stage Mishima Dojo from Tekken 7. All updates will become available with Version 12.0.
