One Punch Man game

The hit Japanese anime One Punch Man is being adapted into a fighting game. The game will officially be titled: One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows, and is set to be released on Sony’s PlayStation 4, Microsoft’s Xbox One and PC. There isn’t an official release date yet, but there is a trailer that just recently came out. Check it out:

It is described as an action fighting game and contains a fun take on the genre, having it be a three versus three brawler. There are a number of characters from the franchise that are making an appearance with the game, according to the trailer and confirmed news, the game will feature the likes of Saitama of course, as well as Genos, Mumen Rider and Speed-o’-Sound Sonic.

This is the first console game of its type from the franchise and is in development by Spike Chunsoft, who have made games such as Zanki Zero: Last Beginning, Fire Pro Wrestling World and One Piece: Burning Blood. Bandai Namco will publish the title.

The One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows trailer threateningly ends with the main villain of the game, Lord Boros, who was the main antagonist in the TV show’s first season. As to whether there will be a campaign and dialogue settings featuring our favorite characters, it’s unknown. If there is a campaign, it will be odd to see how the mechanics will be run, as the story’s main character can simply knock out anyone with one punch, literally.

There are currently few details to go off of, as there are only small bits of gameplay that suggest how the mechanics of the 3v3 battle system will work. One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows will be a unique game of its own, with plenty of details sure to come out in the near future after more development.
