Sega and Creative Assembly announced the next entry in their successful Total War: Warhammer series, Total War: Warhammer III in February. Since then the team has spelt out more of the upcoming game’s key points of pride including a new “survival mode” built to test even the most battle-tested players’ ability to micromanage.

“Survival Battles” are prearranged engagements that give the player specific resources and square them up against a massive invading force.

The game’s tagline “Conquer Your Daemons” hints at an impending conflict between the mortal sentinels and the many demonic or undead presences in the Warhammer world. Creative Assembly boasts that Warhammer III will have the most diverse cast of monsters, races and heroes in all of the series.

“Our vision, from the start, was to create a series that felt like an incredible journey through this world we all loved,” said Game Director Ian Roxburgh in a press release. “The enormous support of our players in ensuring the success of the first two installments has pushed our ambition to new heights, and we can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”
