Halo Reach

Halo Reach (Microsoft)

The remaster of Halo: Reach just came out on PC and it is already having an impact. It has been 12 years since the game has returned to the PC platform. Steam has given the game quite the welcome with over 100,000 players making it one of the top five games on Valve’s storefront.

The game now has more concurrent players than Grand Theft Auto V, Rainbow Six Siege and PUBG with 139,997 players currently playing. The only two games ahead are Dota 2 and Counter-Strike. Those two have more than 300,000 concurrent players.

Halo: Reach is also above Destiny 2, another science fiction shooter game which has joined Steam from Bungie. This comes after Activision and Bungie decided to go separate ways. Destiny 2 started off with 220,000 concurrent players, however, the game began to slowly decrease in players as the season came to an end. Today, roughly 100,000 players play the game.

Halo: Reach is the first of its kind on PC and Steam but it surely won’t be the last. 343 Industries who took over from Bungie will be porting the rest of Halo: Master Chief collection to the platform. Microsoft, to players delight, will every game in the series up to Halo 4 will be available including multiplayer modes. These games will be playable in 4k quality at 60fps.

Halo: Reach is also available on Xbox One today where you can play it considering you have the console. It brings nostalgia to many gamers who grew up with the series. The new multiplayer progression will suck new and older players back to one of the best game series in the market.
