A lot of last-gen games have been receiving upgrades for the next-generation of consoles. From 3rd party games like Borderlands 3 to first-party titles like Gears 5 and God of War, developers have been making sure their games take full advantage of the Xbox Series X/S and the PlayStation 5. Another game that might be getting an upgrade to next-gen is 2020’s most controversial release, The Last of Us Part 2.

DualShockers recently noticed the game’s description on Best Buy’s website and noticed a small detail in the game’s listing. Right above the image of the game’s case, BestBuy has a tag saying The Last of Us Part 2 will include a Next-Gen upgrade. While this could be a simple mistake on Best Buy’s part, neither Naughty Dog nor Sony has commented on this. It could be that it’s Best Buy’s way of saying that The Last of Us Part 2 is playable on the PS5.

The Last of Us Part 2 was released on June 19, 2020.
