‘DeathLoop’ Release Date Announced
Deathloop, the upcoming game from Dishonored and Prey developer, Arkane Studios, now has an official release date. Announced on the game’s official Twitter, DeathLoop will be arriving on PS5 and PC on May 21, 2021. Originally expected to be released in late 2020, the game was eventually delayed to 2021 due to “work disruptions caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic.”

Although Microsoft purchased Bethesda Software in September, the game will remain on PS5 and PC for a year, as part of a timed console exclusivity deal made between Sony and Bethesda before Microsoft’s buyout. Xbox Game Studio head Phil Spencer announced that the deal would not be affected by the purchase.
Deathloop will be Arkane Studios’ first new IP since the original Dishonored, with the game featuring the same level design and choice-based gameplay that the developer is known for. Like the Dishonored series, the game casts gamers as assassins who must take down eight targets in any fashion they choose. Like with the developer’s previous work, the game will feature a sci-fi twist and has a plethora of otherworldly powers for players to use in whatever path they wish to take, be it the guns-blazing route or the stealthy option.
The last game from Arkane Studios was 2019’s Wolfenstein: Youngblood.
