The original Final Fantasy VII came out in the year 1997. The game was so influential, it actually shaped the way other nations and people look at games that are made in Japan. During it’s initial release in ’97, it was considered to be one of the greatest video games ever made at the time.

The newest Final Fantasy game will not alter the plot line to the original game. Instead, they will be revamping the player’s controls — specifically fighting  — as well as the graphics and art design of the game. You’d be quite surprised at how vastly games have improved since Final Fantasy‘s original release, 23 years ago.

In the game, you play as a mercenary named Cloud. Your purpose in the game is to stop the Shinra Electric Power Company, whose only goals in the game are to drain the energy out of Earth, and make glorious profits. The player also has to fight the main antagonist of the game, Sephiroth.

Some of the game’s original cast will not be included. One fan created a petition, which currently has around 2,300 signatures. Instead of demanding that Final Fantasy fire its newly hired voice actors in favor of the older ones, this person even asks nicely for a DLC add on.

The original release date for the game was on March 3, however the game will be released on April 10, 2020, exclusively on the PS4.
