First Images Of 'Uncharted' Movie Revealed

Sony and Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland has unveiled official images of the Uncharted series’ upcoming live-action movie adaptation. Serving as a prequel to the series, the film will feature a young Nathan Drake in his first major adventure. The pics give audiences and fans a glimpse at what to expect from the upcoming movie. One of the photos shows off Holland as Nathan Drake, the Uncharted series’ main protagonist, in the outfit he wore in Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception.

The second image is a behind-the-scenes pic of Holland meeting with voice actor Nolan North, who portrayed Drake in the game series. Over on North’s official Twitter account, he has given his blessings to Holland, saying that he is “crushing it” in the role of Drake. North isn’t the only one on giving thumbs up to the upcoming Uncharted movie. Amy Henning, the director and creator of the Uncharted series, tweeting the phrase, “Sic Parvis Magna.” The quote will be familiar to Uncharted fans, as it was the motto of Sir Francis Drake, who Nathan Drake claimed to be an ancestor of.

The final photographs are of props, including an ancient key and a book with an image of Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. A tweet from the Uncharted movie Twitter account responded with Magellan’s quote, “Meet the shadowy future without fear and conquer the unknown.”

Set for release on July 16, 2021, the Uncharted movie will be directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Zombieland) and produced by Spider-Man movie producer Avi Arad. Joining Holland will be Mark Wallberg as Victor Sulivan (Drake’s mentor), with Antonio Banderas, Sophia Taylor Ali, and Tati Gabriella in unspecific roles.
