Since it was first announced back at PlayStation’s State Of Play digital event in June, Spider-Man: Miles Morales has become the flagship game for the PS5. Not only will it be acting as a continuation of 2018’s Spider-Man on PS4, but the game will take full advantage of the PS5 processing power. To further emphasize how much this Spider-Man game will be all about its titular hero, Insomniac has announced that Miles Morales will be the only playable character in the upcoming title.

During an interview with GameInformer, as part of a monthly preview partnership with Sony, Brian Horton, the creative director behind the upcoming Spider-Man game, discussed the development of Miles Morales. During which, Horton said that Miles would be the only character playable thought-out the 15-hour adventure.

One of the biggest criticisms made about 2018’s Spider-Man were the occasional sections where players would take control of either a non-powered Miles Morales or Mary Jane Watson in stealth sections that many critics felt were forced and tacked-on. While Horton did not mention this in the interview, this statement of Miles Morales being the only playable character could be Insomniac responding to that issue many had.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales will launch alongside the PS5 on November 12. Those who purchase the $70 Ultimate Edition will receive a Remastered version of Spider-Man.
