Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat 11 has become one of the most successful entries in the nearly 30-year-old franchise. While it hasn’t reached the same 10 million copies sold as its predecessor, Mortal Kombat X, the latest entry in the fighting game franchise has still sold an impressive eight million copies, according to series creator Ed Boon on Twitter. Mortal Kombat 11 was already one of the best-selling games of 2019, with it placing 5th according to the NPD group.

Now, Boon has announced on his social media account that a new fighter will be announced on Wednesday, with a teaser of who is to come. Many fans are hoping that it will be the return of fan-favorite Mileena, the genetic experiment of Shang Tsung, and the daughter of series antagonist Shao Kahn, while others believe that it will be Rambo.

Since it was released in 2019, Mortal Kombat 11 has been hailed as one of the best-reviewed entries in the franchise, currently sitting at an 82 on Metacritic for the PS4 version. Over the past year, the game has received many DLC fighters, including The Joker, The Terminator, Spawn, and Shang Tsung. In May, Mortal Kombat 11 featured the franchises first-ever story DLC, Aftermatch, while also adding characters like Robocop to the roster.
