The Last of Us (Sony)

The Last of Us is just one of many video game adaptation’s coming to television. The show will be featured on HBO, with Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin acting as an executive producer and writer on the project. While production has not started, voice actor Troy Baker has already shown interest in being part of the show’s cast. Baker has voiced several different characters in the video game industry, including protagonist Joel from The Last of Us.

In a video discussing the recently released images of the upcoming Uncharted movie on his YouTube channel, Relater, Baker answered a question on whether he would want to voice Joel again (around the 17-minute mark). While Baker isn’t interested in playing Joel for the upcoming TV adaptation of the critically acclaimed series, he still wants to be part of it in a minor role. “I wanna be blown up by Joel,” Baker said jokingly. “That would be the best… Or just the guy like Quint from Jaws who’s like, Oh, you think you’re gonna make it out of this.” While no one has been cast yet, Baker has already shared his interest in casting Thanos actor Josh Brolin as Joel.

The latest game in The Last of Us series, The Last of Us Part II, was released on June 19.
