Dead Rising 4 (Capcom)

Brace yourself, Capcom Vancouver’s Dead Rising 4 is about to terrorize a new audience. Steam will get the zombie sandbox title on March 14.

DEAD RISING 4 WILL FIST BUMP STEAM THIS MONTH

Dead Rising 4 launched on the Xbox One and Windows 10 PC last December as a timed exclusive. Additional details pertaining to its Steam release, including its system requirements, have been posted on Capcom’s blog. Notably, those who pre-order the title will do so at a 20% discount. Dead Rising 4 will revert to its usual price upon its launch.

Interestingly, Capcom recently acknowledged the reception their new focus-tested game received:

“Compared to the series up to now, this game was made more approachable in order to allow a wider audience to enjoy it; however, there was a wider range of opinions for the new game. Moving forward, we intend to grow unit sales on a continuous basis by releasing additional digital download content while implementing updates for improvements.”

It seems the current strategy is to support Frank West‘s incumbent title with downloadable content while making the game play better. However, speaking as someone who couldn’t enjoy Dead Rising 4, I hope Capcom and Capcom Vancouver rethink their approach to the series going forward.
