PS5 Reveal: All You Need to Know

With the launch of any new video game console, there are bound to be a few bugs and defective machines in the mix. The PS3 and PS4 had issues with some early adopters, and the same is true with the PS5. One of the more prominent bugs that have been popping up is a Download Queue bug. The glitch has a game locking into a download status or generates an error message. The issue is preventing players from even playing the game, whether it be the physical or digital version of a game.

In a recent post from IGN, the news site notes that a lot of these reported issues are from the PS5 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, but some have had the same issue with games like Demon’s SoulsSpider-Man: Remastered, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure. One user even had this with the PlayStation 5′ Disney+ app. The bug seems to only affect PS5 versions of games, with no claims that PS4 games having the same issue.

“Activision is recommending a factory reset to those who get in touch about the issue regarding Call of Duty,” wrote IGN‘s Joe Skrebels, with Skrebels saying that other users have done this with other games with the same results. As of this writing, Sony has not released an official statement or fix about this issue.

The PS5 was released on November 12, 2020.
